band Q&A (2020):
– What is the meaning of the album title “Alter Echo”?
Tim: It took a while to come up with a title for this new album. For a long time, the working title, and the idea for the title, was just the number “4”. And with the excuse that it would then be a wink to our idols – our own heroes, Led Zeppelin, for example, who did “Zeppelin IV”, and Black Sabbath did “Vol. 4”, not to mention Shu-bi-dua who did “Shu-bi-dua 4”, and so forth. And perhaps it should be titled, just, “Dizzy 4”. We also found that a bit easy, perhaps a bit boring as well, so we made an extra effort.
Søren: Tim had this echo pedal named “Alter Ego”, actually, and we found that a fun wordplay, because “alter ego” is one’s other self.
Martin: “Echo” has to do with sound, but “alter” can also mean to change something. So it sums up this album pretty well: We have undergone some kind of change.
Tim: This album is an alternative, or a renewed, perhaps updated, version of this band that many of you already know.
