This is a note-for-note transcription of the acoustic live version of “Nocturne” (Live in Manchester) from November 2024. This solo improvisation shows a staggering degree of musical multi-tasking and control, and it is a great study for students trying to walk in these footsteps. I chose to transcribe this version in particular because it also demonstrates new chord substitutions and changes in groove that really take the tune to a novel place. Enjoy!
