This is a complete transcription of the vocal, double bass, and guitar parts on “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”. The original 5m22s album version (1969) was cut down to 4m20s for the single edit (1972) that made the song a breakthrough hit for Roberta Flack; however, this is a transcription of the full original. The relatively simple bass part sets this gorgeous love ballad in motion, and it is great practice for beginner–intermediate bassists, and so is the guitar part. The vocal part, however, should be approached with care, by a singer very experienced in love. Enjoy!
