This is a complete transcription of all vocals, the acoustic guitar part, the electric bass, and trumpets’ solo on this wonderful song, “Chateay Lobby #4 …”. Although this is, if anything, a modern take on a love song, it also has a nostalgical 1960s groove and a classic horn-elements from Mexican ballad. For the guitarist, this is lovely to play as J.T. uses an alternative tunings for some great 6-string voicings. As a bonus, I have added a guitar arrangement of the trumpet solo. Enjoy!
" It's really just a tune about the first few months of being in love with someone. I don't believe in love as a thing. I don't think you can really write about love as a thing. I think love is a context. It's a perspective. And it's a perspective that allows you to address things honestly – which is, I think, the irony in the fact that so many love songs are rooted in some kind of fantasy that I don't recognize. If you have love at your disposal, if you have that perspective, I think you're able to look at things for what they really are. That's what is exciting to me about having intimacy with another person, 'cause you're willing to go that much further inside yourself and inside the other person – literally and figuratively. "
